In an interview with the Viet Nam News Agency (VNA)’s correspondent in Algiers, Lamoudi praised Viet Nam’s stance on regional and global issues, noting the country’s consistency and steadfastness.
He said this consistency stems from Viet Nam’s practice of grounding its positions in principles and humanistic, universal values, and particularly welcomed the Party and State of Viet Nam’s support for just causes. “We welcome these views and always note the convergence or unity of perspectives between Algeria and Viet Nam on major, pressing issues of the times, especially as the world today faces multiple threats to peace,” he said.
The official stressed that Viet Nam has consistently supported national liberation movements worldwide, including Algeria. Viet Nam has left a model historical lesson through its resistance against French colonialists, serving as an inspiration for all peoples subjected to oppression, domination or any form of control, he said.
According to Lamoudi, this policy is guided by the spirit of non-alignment, affirming Viet Nam’s independent will, respect for sovereignty and political choices. He said the FLN believes that at the upcoming 14th National Congress, the Communist Party of Viet Nam will continue to reaffirm and further consolidate this policy, which has delivered encouraging, even impressive, results.
Regarding bilateral relations, Lamoudi said Algeria values Viet Nam’s stance and is confident that Algeria–Viet Nam ties will continue to grow, with expanded cooperation across multiple fields for the tangible benefit of both countries and their people. He spoke highly of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh’s visit to Algeria in November 2025, describing it as extremely important and even historic. The visit led to the signing of numerous cooperation agreements across most sectors, opening up promising prospects for developing and strengthening the bilateral relations in all aspects.
The FLN welcomed the Vietnamese PM’s visit and the signing of a cooperation agreement between the two parties, noting that the document marked a significant milestone in party-to-party relations and established a concrete roadmap to further consolidate and develop ties, thereby contributing to stronger relations between the two nations' people.
Lamoudi added that the FLN places high expectations on the effective implementation of the cooperation agreement and conveyed a message from FLN Secretary-General Professor AbdelKrim ben Mbarek to the Communist Party of Viet Nam, expressing the desire and determination to elevate cooperation, solidarity and fraternal ties between the two parties to a new level.
