Speaking at a press conference to announce the event on August 21, LPBank Deputy General Director Hoang Van Phuc said the marathon is intended to help enhance public health, promote the beauty of Cat Ba Island and advertise the LPBank brand to the community of runners.
The event is expected to attract about 5,000 amateur and professional runners from both at home and abroad, competing in the 5km, 10km and 21km categories.
The run will be broadcast live on VTV2 channel from 3:30pm to 6:30pm on October 19, 2024.
With the running course travelling along stunning coastal roads and lakes, with a romantic sunset view, the marathon is expected give runners an unforgettable experience.
Runners participating in the competition will have opportunities to win prizes totalling 500 million VND (20,000 USD).
