An exhibition entitled “Ho Chi Minh: Symbol of the Era, Bridge of Viet Nam–Thailand Friendship”, was jointly organised by the Vietnamese Consulate General in Khon Kaen and the Ho Chi Minh Relic Site at the Presidential Palace on August 28.
Speaking at the opening, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh affirmed that President Ho Chi Minh was not only a great national liberation hero and an outstanding cultural figure of the 20th century, but also a source of inspiration for peace-loving people worldwide.
He recalled Ho Chi Minh’s time in Thailand from 1928–1929, when his revolutionary activities helped foster solidarity between Vietnamese expatriates and the Thai people, leaving behind historical sites and artifacts that remain symbols of enduring friendship.
More than 200 photos, documents and artifacts are on display, retracing Ho Chi Minh’s revolutionary journey, his close ties with Vietnamese communities in Thailand, and his legacy of solidarity. The exhibition, divided into five thematic sections, serves as both a cultural-diplomatic event and a bridge connecting the hearts of the two nations.
*A meeting with witnesses who have preserved documents and stories about Ho Chi Minh in Thailand was also held. Vietnamese expatriates and Thai scholars shared moving memories, underscoring how the leader remains both a historical icon and a familiar, personal figure for the community.
*Alongside cultural events, an economic forum titled “Enhancing Viet Nam–Thailand Economic Cooperation in the New Era” brought together hundreds of business representatives from both countries. Consul General Linh highlighted the role of Viet Nam’s private sector as a driving force for sustainable growth and stressed the importance of cross-border cooperation within global value chains.
Thai and Vietnamese officials emphasised Udon Thani’s role as a regional hub, the deepening of comprehensive strategic partnership ties, and joint efforts in trade, investment, technology and sustainable development. Speakers agreed that cooperation between the two nations goes beyond commerce, laying foundations for a shared future based on mutual trust and understanding.
The celebrations not only honoured Viet Nam’s historic milestone but also reinforced the enduring friendship and strategic partnership between Viet Nam and Thailand, while highlighting the role of people-to-people exchanges and business collaboration in shaping a stronger, more sustainable regional community.
