Central Military Commission holds meeting with retired senior officers

The Central Military Commission and the Ministry of Defence held a meeting on January 7 with retired high-ranking military officers from the northern region.

The event was attended by Minister of Defence Phan Van Giang, former Ministers of Defence Pham Van Tra and Ngo Xuan Lich, as well as many current and former military generals.

The event was intended to demonstrate the Party, State and army’s care and gratitude towards retired military officers, provide them with up-to-date information, strengthen intergenerational solidarity and draw on the valuable experience of retired officers.

Speaking at the meeting, Minister of Defence Phan Van Giang expressed his delight at welcoming the retired military officers and informed them of the domestic and international situation, as well as the notable achievements of the military in 2025.

The minister called on the retired officers to continue contributing their ideas and sharing their valuable experience gained through years of service to national construction and defence.

He also expressed his hope that the retired officers would continue serving as a source of encouragement and working side by side with the Central Military Commission and the Ministry of Defence to fulfil the mission of firmly defending the nation.
