The unique market is held only once a year from the midnight of the seventh day of the first month of the lunar calendar to the early morning of the following day.
Goods on sale at the market include agricultural tools, antiques, utensils and many varieties of ornamental plants, which in days past symbolised people’s hopes for bumper crops.
Many people believe that anything bought at the market will help them bring home good luck and prosperity for the whole year.
