The event was attended by Vietnamese Ambassador to Laos Nguyen Minh Tam and his spouse, staff of the Vietnamese Embassy, representatives of the General Association of Vietnamese in Laos, the Association of Vietnamese in Vientiane, along with teachers, parents, and hundreds of pupils from the Nguyen Du Lao–Vietnamese Bilingual School.

Speaking at the event, Sivanheuang Phengkhammay, Head of the school, emphasised that the Lao–Vietnamese Bilingual School Nguyen Du serves as a cradle nurturing the special bond of solidarity and friendship between the two countries.

She affirmed that the festival aims to help pupils gain a deeper understanding of culture and the distinctive features of traditional Vietnamese cuisine.

The festival included a photo exhibition showcasing the land and people of Viet Nam, musical and artistic performances by schoolchildren, and folk games.

Visitors were invited to take part in activities associated with the traditional Vietnamese Lunar New Year, such as New Year decorations, making banh chung (square sticky rice cake), creating greeting cards, and preparing traditional Vietnamese dishes.

They also had the opportunity to enjoy traditional Vietnamese delicacies such as banh cuon (steamed rice rolls), bun bo Hue (Hue-style beef noodle soup), candied fruits, nem ran (fried spring rolls), and pho.
