The meeting not only demonstrated Viet Nam’s strong interest in the upcoming specialised international exhibition but also marked the beginning of a substantive and effective cooperation process between the two sides in the near future.
EXPO 2027 Belgrade, themed “Play for Humanity – Sport and Music for All”, is expected to take place from May 15 to August 15.
For Viet Nam, this theme aligns with the current direction of cultural diplomacy, highlighting the role of cultural promotion as a bridge in international exchange.
Through successful past EXPOs such as Milan 2015, Astana 2017, and Dubai 2020, Viet Nam has showcased its organisational capabilities, innovative approaches, and the appeal of its culture to the international community. With EXPO 2027 Belgrade, Viet Nam hopes to leave another strong impression through a creative, distinctive and effective presence.

The two sides also discussed logistical support, and opportunities for cultural and trade cooperation.
The organising committee of EXPO 2027 Belgrade affirmed that a field trip to the construction site of the EXPO Village would be organised in the near future, enabling participating countries to better understand the overall layout and prepare specific plans for their involvement.
According to the organisers, EXPO 2027 Belgrade is expected to span three months, with the participation of hundreds of countries and international organisations. Key international transit hubs such as Dubai and Istanbul will help shorten distances while significantly facilitating connectivity from the Asia-Pacific region, including Viet Nam.
Viet Nam’s participation in EXPO 2027 Belgrade is currently under careful consideration, with close coordination between the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and other relevant ministries and agencies to prepare a report for the prime minister’s review and decision. This also represents an important opportunity to reaffirm Viet Nam’s role and position in global forums on cultural development, creativity and multilateral cooperation.
