The latest report shows that Da Nang’s tourism activities are experiencing strong growth, emerging as a bright spot in the city’s socio-economic development.
In the first four months of 2025, accommodation establishments served more than 3.5 million visitors, an increase of 18.6% compared to the same period in 2024. Of these, international visitors accounted for over 1.7 million, up 43% year-on-year, while domestic visitors reached nearly 1.8 million, up 2.2%. Revenue from accommodation, food services, and travel services in the first four months of 2025 reached more than 11.4 trillion VND, a 22.5% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
During the recent public holidays on April 30 and May Day, Da Nang welcomed approximately 610,000 visitors, more than 50% higher than the same period last year. Total revenue from tourism-related activities during the five-day holiday in Da Nang was estimated at 2.426 trillion VND, up more than 50% compared to the same period in 2024.
These encouraging achievements are the result of concerted efforts across the entire political system, coordinated actions by various levels of government, sectors, and localities, as well as the responsible engagement of the business community and local residents.

Speaking at the seminar, Vice Chairwoman of the Da Nang City People’s Committee Nguyen Thi Anh Thi acknowledged and highly appreciated the practical contributions of the city’s Tourism Development Promotion Fund and the Da Nang Tourism Association in connecting businesses, fostering consensus, and effectively supporting business operations and international market expansion.
She also emphasised that going forward, the implementation of the policy to merge Quang Nam province with Da Nang City would not only expand the geographical space, making Da Nang the centrally governed city with the largest area in the country—but also usher in an entirely new development vision.
Presentations delivered at the seminar highlighted the strengths of Da Nang’s tourism sector following the merger with Quang Nam province. According to experts and businesses, the merged city of Da Nang would see its total area expand tenfold. It would become one of only three localities nationwide with two airports and the only one with two international airports.
The challenge facing Da Nang’s tourism industry will be to “restructure” itself in order to effectively tap into its tourism resources, develop new destinations, and enhance the service supply chain. In addition, there must be a continuous effort to improve the quality of human resources in the tourism sector and apply digital transformation effectively in operations and management to achieve the highest possible economic efficiency.
