Ha Noi’s tourism gears up for National Day celebrations

From the exploring the Ha Noi Old Quarter to enjoying a lotus-scented cup of tea by West Lake, Ha Noi’s historical tours are being rapidly refreshed in preparation for the major national holiday marking the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945-2025) and National Day (September 2, 1945–2025)

Ha Noi’s tourism gears up for National Day celebrations

With less than a month to go, Ha Noi is entering a high season of large-scale commemorations, honouring one of the most significant milestones in the nation’s history.

Beyond the ceremonial parades and solemn political and social events, the capital is injecting new vitality into its tourism sector to welcome tens of thousands of visitors during this momentous occasion.

According to the Ha Noi Department of Tourism, activities will focus on three key areas: enhancing the quality of tourism products and services, event organisation, and communication and promotion.

The city is redefining the urban travel experience with a wide array of tours highlighting historical landmarks associated with the August Revolution, promotional campaigns to encourage inner-city travel, culinary experiences, and the “Ha Noi by Night” series — offering distinctive activities where visitors can enjoy both history and gastronomy.

A notable highlight will be the inaugural Ha Noi Beverage Festival 2025, dedicated to the region’s signature drinks.

From lotus tea and egg coffee to sticky rice wine and modern creations like refreshing mocktails, the festival promises to be an engaging stop for residents and tourists alike.

Meanwhile, at the National Socio-Economic Achievements Exhibition in Dong Anh District, a vibrant space will showcase outstanding OCOP products, tangible and intangible cultural heritage, smart tourism models and newly designed experiential tours. The event is not only a visual treat, but also a vivid portrayal of Ha Noi’s stature and development potential in the broader national landscape.

In tandem with event planning, tourism communication and promotion are also being prioritised by the city’s tourism authorities.

A series of viral clips, printed materials, digital newsletters, and 360-degree videos are being simultaneously deployed, all aimed at portraying Ha Noi as a “friendly, attractive, dynamic and deeply historical” destination in the eyes of domestic and international travellers.

In addition to promoting destinations, logistics plans for thousands of delegates, international guests, and provincial delegations are also being meticulously prepared.

Tasks including accommodation, transport, food safety, traffic control, and reception services have been assigned to professional units for smooth coordination.

The Ha Noi Youth Union has mobilised 72 young volunteers to serve as “friendly ambassadors” who will support delegations throughout their stay and participation in the capital’s events.

Following the pandemic, Ha Noi’s tourism sector has made a strong recovery but is still awaiting a breakthrough.

The celebrations present a golden opportunity, not only to pay tribute to history, but also to elevate Ha Noi’s image and reposition the capital as a leading destination, rich in culture, cuisine, heritage, and vibrant contemporary life.
