At the ceremony, authorised by the Prime Minister, Lam Thi Phuong Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Permanent Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism, presented the certificate recognising the Tam Chuc Scenic Complex as a Special National Relic Site.
Following a rigorous, scientific, and objective appraisal process, and in recognition of its outstanding landscape, historical, and spiritual-cultural values, the Tam Chuc scenic and archaeological complex was officially designated a Special National Relic by the Prime Minister.
This honour represents not only a source of pride for local authorities and residents but also a significant responsibility to preserve, safeguard, and promote the site’s heritage values for present and future generations.
Speaking at the ceremony, Tran Song Tung, Standing Vice Chairman of the People’s Committee of Ninh Binh Province, expressed gratitude for the leadership and guidance of central authorities, the support of ministries and agencies, and the long-standing contributions of businesses and local communities across generations in preserving the historical landscape and cultural values of the Tam Chuc complex.
He emphasised that the Prime Minister’s decision to grant Special National Relic status to the Tam Chuc scenic and archaeological complex is a great honour for the Party organisation, government, and people of Ninh Binh Province.
The recognition not only affirms the site’s natural, historical, cultural, and artistic values but also demonstrates the nation’s commitment to preserving and promoting heritage in the era of renewal and integration.
It also contributes to Ninh Binh’s ambition to become a centrally governed city characterised as a millennium heritage urban centre, a creative city with modern industry, high-quality services, and a green urban model closely linked to heritage.
To ensure sustainable conservation, restoration, and promotion of the Tam Chuc complex’s values, and to gradually prepare a nomination dossier for submission to UNESCO for potential recognition as a World Heritage Site, Ninh Binh Province will focus on effectively implementing the Politburo’s Resolution No.80, dated January 7, 2026, on developing Vietnamese culture in line with local realities.
The province will seek to integrate heritage preservation with tourism and spiritual-cultural development, and to build cultural industries alongside tourism as key economic sectors, thereby contributing to socio-economic growth.
