Da Nang’s tourism revenue estimated at over 26 trillion VND in nine months

The tourism sector of Da Nang posted a total revenue of more than 26 trillion VND (1.04 billion USD) in the first nine months of 2024, up 26% over the same period in 2023 and equivalent to 135% of the same period in 2019, according to the Da Nang Department of Tourism.

During the nine months, the city welcomed about 8.67 million visitors, up 33% over the corresponding period in 2023. Of which, the number of foreign visitors reached over 3.17 million, a year-on-year increase of 30%.

Regarding the structure of international tourists, compared to 2019, the proportion of tourists from the Republic of Korea, China, Thailand, and Japan has decreased, with the Republic of Korea seeing a significant drop of 8.5% and China decreasing by 13.6%. However, there is growth in several new markets, including Taiwan (China), up by 8.1%, India, up by 4.2%, Australia, up by 1.1%, and Russia, up by 1.4%, among others.

The Da Nang’s top ten international tourist markets are as follows: the Republic of Korea (accounting for 41.3%), Taiwan (China), Thailand, China, India, the US, Japan, Malaysia, Australia, and Russia.

The city aims to receive 10.3 million visitors in 2024, a year-on-year increase of 39% and a total tourism revenue of over 38 trillion VND (1.52 billion USD), up 37% over 2023.
