Defence Minister attends military handover and enlistment ceremony in Cao Bang

General Phan Van Giang, Politburo member and Minister of National Defence, together with a Ministry of National Defence delegation, attended the military handover and enlistment ceremony at Handover Point No. 3 organised by the Cao Bang Provincial People’s Committee, on March 4.

On March 4, Cao Bang Province organised four military handover and enlistment ceremony sites. At Handover Point No. 3 under the Area 3 Nguyen Binh Regional Defence Command, citizens from 16 communes and wards departed to perform their military service and service in the People’s Public Security force.

Addressing the military handover and enlistment ceremony, Le Hai Hoa, alternate member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People’s Committee and Chairman of the Military Service Council of Cao Bang Province, acknowledged and commended the outstanding young people joining the armed forces on this occasion.

He praised authorities and agencies at all levels for conducting recruitment in a synchronised, serious and regulation-compliant manner, and highly appreciated the strong public consensus and active support that helped ensure recruitment met targets on schedule, with new recruits demonstrating good health, moral character and political qualities.

Emphasising that the military and public security environment is a “great school”, Le Hai Hoa urged the new recruits to quickly mature, strictly observe unit discipline, study and train diligently, and successfully fulfil all assigned tasks.

On behalf of the recruits departing for service, Hoang Trung Kien from Tan Giang Ward expressed his honour at contributing his youth and standing among outstanding young people undertaking the mission of safeguarding the Fatherland.

He affirmed his determination to study and train seriously, continue improving himself and strive to accomplish all assigned duties.

On this occasion, General Phan Van Giang, the Ministry of National Defence delegation and leaders of Cao Bang Province presented flowers and encouragement to the recruits as they set off to perform their duty to the Fatherland.
