Visiting and inspecting aquaculture activities at Trung Nam Aquatic Products Cooperative and Bai Tu Long Fishing Village Cooperative, Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha praised the efforts of the cooperatives in overcoming the consequences of storm No.3 (Yagi), quickly restoring production, and at the same time, encouraging the cooperatives to pay more attention to investing in converting farming technology towards a more modern and sustainable direction; paying attention to environmental protection to be able to combine farming with tourism development.
The Deputy PM emphasised that in addition to the efforts of cooperatives and enterprises, support policies from state management agencies must be implemented more effectively to develop the marine aquaculture industry.
He suggested that Quang Ninh Province should exploit more effectively the infrastructure system serving the development of the aquaculture sector that has been invested in, at the same time, coordinate with ministries and branches to propose support mechanisms, encourage aquaculture enterprises and cooperatives to participate in agricultural insurance; support the building of brands as well as environmental databases for each farming area; encourage enterprises to invest in preservation and deep processing projects.
