Deputy PM urges academy improve political education quality

NDO—The Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics should improve the quality of political education to consolidate its position as the leading national research centre on Marxist-Leninist theory and Ho Chi Minh Thought, political science and other sub-disciplines of social sciences.

The requirement was made by Politburo member and Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh while attending a conference held by the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics in Hanoi on January 12 to review activities in 2016 and devise plans for 2017.

In 2016, the Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics the academy saw development in both scale and quality and accomplished its tasks of training Party officials and studying Party theories.

Addressing the event, Deputy PM Truong Hoa Binh noted that he appreciated the role of the academy and its achievements, adding that the academy should exert more effort and innovation to fulfil its responsibility as a training centre for key national leaders.

He stressed that one of the most important issues in the national revolution in this new period is to train officials with firm political foundations, moral purity and highly professional qualifications in all sectors and at all levels.

He also asked the academy to attach much importance to enhancing the quality of training, renewing the training programme and teaching methods, as well as recruitment work and trainee management.
