Within the launch of the annual publication, EuroCham also cooperated with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) to organise a seminar themed "EVFTA: Driving Industry Digitalisation and Transformation for Vietnam’s Socio-economic Prosperity".
The event covered two pressing issues that have important role in the success of Vietnam's development in the next phase, including the Vietnam- European Union (EU) Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) and the Fourth Industrial Revolution - the two issues are expected to help Vietnam integrate deeply into the global economy and the international community.
The Fourth Industrial Revolution through digitisation across all industries is expected to enhance Vietnam's position, helping the country to be more competitive, more innovative and better prepared to capture potential opportunities.
Meanwhile, the EVFTA, once approved and implemented, will promote trade and investment between the EU and Vietnam, helping consumers gain better access to a variety of high quality goods and services from Europe.
At the launch of the Whitebook, a number of issues and recommendations from the EuroCham were presented and discussed in three topics - the health sector in Vietnam, the tax and customs environment, and sustainable growth.
The EuroCham’s 11th Whitebook focuses on the potential of economic development in Vietnam, including 20 chapters covering multiple areas.
The publication also outlines key issues for corporate operations, offers concrete action proposals and directions that the Government should take to improve Vietnam's business environment and legal system, promote trade and investment from Europe, and improve Vietnam's competitiveness in the global market.
