Fair and exhibition of seeds and high-tech agriculture opens in Ho Chi Minh City

The eighth Fair and Exhibition of Seeds and Hi-Tech Agriculture opened at the Biotechnology Centre in Ho Chi Minh City on August 18, showcasing 315 pavilions of 140 enterprises and localities.

The event is jointly held by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, the Department of Science and Technology, and the Ho Chi Minh City Hi-tech Agricultural Park Management Board.

The exhibition area introduces the achievements of scientific and technological research, modern machinery, equipment, technology, and biotechnology, such asmagnetic water treatment technology to help improve the efficiency of large-scale aquaculture, solar energy drying equipment for aquatic products, and food packaging solutions, among others.

Meanwhile, localities showcase their local agricultural achievements, OCOP products, key agricultural products, and varieties of plants, seeds, and livestock.

Within the framework of the fair, many other activities were held, such as an exhibition of an aquarium, a workshop on improving economic value in dairy farming, a workshop on agricultural economic thinking in the production and cultivation of plant varieties, and a seminar on ornamental fish in production, access to the domestic market and export, among others.

The seminars are expected to put forth recommendations on removing difficulties in the production and consumption of agricultural products, as well as building mechanisms and policies to promote the development of enterprises and cooperatives in the agricultural sector.

The event will run until August 21.
