The event opened with an incense-offering ceremony to worship Tan Vien Mountain Saint and pray for a new year full of favourable weather conditions, prosperity and happiness.

The festivalgoers then attended a palanquin procession and enjoyed a drum performance and a stage act on Tan Vien Mountain Saint.

The two-day festival also includes various sporting events and folk games, such as tug of war, stilt walking, stick pushing, cock fighting, and a football tournament.

The festival, which was recognised as a national intangible cultural heritage by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in 2018, commemorates Tan Vien Mountain Saint – one of the four immortals of traditional Vietnamese mythology.
