Festival honours cultural beauty of ethnic minority groups in Thanh Hoa

A festival honouring the cultural beauty of ethnic minority groups in the central province of Thanh Hoa was held at Lam Son Square, Thanh Hoa City on March 8-9.

The event was held jointly by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Thanh Hoa Cultural and Cinema Centre and the Thanh Hoa City People's Committee.

This year's festival gathered nearly 1,000 artisans, actors, and musicians from 27 districts, towns, and cities to participate in folk art performances, performances of traditional costumes of ethnic groups, and special art performances.

With the theme “Spring returns to Thanh Hoa’s hometown”, the festival featured rituals, customs and cultural activities, especially the artistic performances of Xoe Thai, Khen Mong, and Gong performances and unique and lively traditional costumes of ethnic groups such as Kinh, Muong, Thai, Tho, H'Mong, Dao and Kho Mu.

The festival aimed to create an opportunity for public art troupes and artisans in Thanh Hoa Province to meet and exchange, introducing the unique culture of ethnic minorities in Thanh Hoa Province to visitors both at home and abroad.
