The festival is taking place from March 16 to 19, coinciding with the 95th anniversary of the establishment of the Da Nang Party organisation and the 50th anniversary of the liberation of Da Nang.
In his opening speech, Da Nang Deputy Chairman Tran Chi Cuong stated that Avalokiteshvara Festival is one of the city's most spiritually meaningful festivals for local residents.
With its distinctive characteristics, the festival is the crystallisation of Buddhist cultural values and the special cultural heritage of Ngu Hanh Son.
The festival has always been an attractive destination not only for domestic visitors but also an opportunity for foreign visitors to experience and explore the history and culture of Vietnamese Buddhism.
The 2025 Ngu Hanh Son Avalokiteshvara Festival features a rich and diverse range of cultural, artistic, sporting and religious activities and promises to attract large numbers of Buddhist followers, local people and tourists.
In addition to cultural activities, the festival will include traditional sporting events such as boat racing, tug-of-war, banana tree climbing and flag capturing, and relay stilt walking competitions.
