The final round witnesses a competition between 16 teams from across the country, which stood out from the qualification rounds held for the northern, central and southern regions, from June 5 to 22.

The teams are divided into four groups of four, playing in a round-robin format to decide the top two teams in each group for the quarterfinals.

The event, runs until July 13, and is hosted by the ‘Thieu nien Tien phong va Nhi dong’ (Young Pioneers and Children) Newspaper, the Vietnam Football Federation, and the Dak Lak Provincial Department of Culture and Sports.

Over its 27 editions, the annual championship has been established as an interesting venue for young football lovers, while discovering new talent for the national football team.

Many prominent football players have been detected through the tournament, such as Nguyen Quang Hai, Do Duy Manh, Doan Van Hau, Luong Xuan Truong, and Nham Manh Dung.
