Under a recent decision by the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), Ly was among four referees and assistant referees of Vietnam to be approved for work at the 2025 AFC U20 Asian Cup qualification.

Accordingly, Ly and Nguyen Trung Hau from Da Nang City will work as main referee and referee assistant of the matches in Group B.

The matches will take place from September 19 to September 30 in New Taipei City, Taiwan (China). The group gathers teams from Uzbekistan, Bahrain, Taiwan (China), Cambodia, and Nepal.

Meanwhile, referee Ngo Duy Lan from Long An Province and assistant referee Pham Hoai Tam from Ho Chi Minh City will officiate in Group E, which includes teams from Tajikistan, Oman, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, and the Democratic People's Republic of Korea.

Matches in Group E will take place in Dushanbe, Tajikistan.

The four appointed Vietnamese referees appointed in this tournament are all senior referees of the AFC.

Among them, Le Thi Ly is one of the three FIFA-acknowledged female referees in Vietnam. She has been appointed to officiate in various football events, including the first qualifying round of AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup in Thailand, second qualifying round of AFC U20 Women's Asian Cup in Myanmar, Asian Games 19 in Wenzhou (China), the second qualifying round of the 2024 Paris Olympics in China, and the AFC Women's Club Championship in Chonburi, Thailand.

Most recently, she officiated at the Maurice Revello Tournament, which was held in France in June within the framework of the 50th international Espoirs Festival.
