This beauty is celebrated and amplified through the 2026 Tourism Programme under the theme “Moc Chau – A Promise of the Flower Season”, which has just officially opened, heralding a vibrant tourism year at the Moc Chau National Tourist Area—recognised as one of the world’s leading natural destinations.
From early January, Moc Chau Ward moved swiftly to complete the final preparations for the opening ceremony of the 2026 Tourism Programme. More than an annual cultural and tourism event, the programme serves as an opportunity to reaffirm Moc Chau’s appeal, stature and growing prominence on both the national and international tourism maps.
According to Nguyen Thi Hoa, Chairwoman of the Moc Chau Ward People’s Committee, the programme’s overarching objective is to promote and showcase the potential and strengths of the Moc Chau National Tourist Area. Spring, she noted, is identified as the most beautiful time of the year, when flowers burst into bloom, creating a special allure for travellers.
A highlight of this year’s festival is the parade of ten flower-decorated cars representing ten outstanding tourist areas and attractions across the plateau. Each car tells its own story through colours, flowers, produce, landscapes and unique cultural identities, contributing to a vibrant and emotionally rich festival atmosphere.
The festive spirit has spread strongly to satellite tourist sites throughout the Moc Chau Plateau. Tourism and agri-tourism enterprises and cooperatives have proactively prepared facilities and services, while directly participating in performances, exhibitions and displays that showcase the most distinctive features of Moc Chau tourism.
A notable new feature of the 2026 Tourism Programme is the application of digital technology to enhance interactivity and visitor experience. The competition “Scan the QR Code – A Digital Journey, Check-in Moc Chau” is being rolled out at tourist sites, accommodation facilities and restaurants across the area.
By simply scanning QR codes to check in and accumulate points, visitors can compete for prizes, including the title of “Check-in King,” encouraging them to explore more destinations, extend their stays and engage more deeply with Moc Chau’s tourism offerings.
To ensure smooth visitor reception and the successful organisation of the 2026 Tourism Programme themed “Moc Chau – A Promise of the Flower Season,” Moc Chau Ward has also issued official guidance to accommodation providers, requiring them to publicly display service prices and refrain from price hikes during the event period.
At the same time, the photography contest “Moc Chau – Flower Season Call the Sun” has been launched from January to March 2026, encouraging professional photographers and visitors alike to capture the most beautiful moments among plum, peach and ban blossoms on the plateau.
Beyond admiring the vivid colours of countless flowers, visitors can immerse themselves in the plateau’s raw and majestic landscape, wander through endless floral forests, listen to the sound of khen pipes calling for love, and fully savour the tranquil rhythm of life in the highlands of Moc Chau.
Within the framework of the programme, a wide range of activities will take place at tourist sites, from eco-tourism experiences and adventure sports to highland markets, culinary and fashion performances, alongside community cultural activities and traditional festivals of the Thai and H’Mông ethnic groups.
During this period, community-based tourism villages such as Ta So and Hang Tau will host H’Mong New Year celebrations, along with stone-worship ceremonies and marathon races exploring uncharted lands, further enriching Moc Chau’s cultural and experiential tourism products.
In addition, traditional education activities at the historical site of the Tay Tien 52nd Regiment will continue, combined with experiential tours to foster patriotism, self-reliance and pride in the area’s revolutionary heritage.
With careful preparation, rich content and creative approaches, “Moc Chau – A Promise of the Flower Season” 2026 is expected to serve as a significant catalyst, ushering in a successful tourism year and helping project the friendly and welcoming image of Sơn La in general, and Moc Chau in particular, further onto Viet Nam’s and the world’s tourism map.
