Speaking at the event, Tran Cam Tu, Politburo member, Permanent member of the Secretariat and Head of the Central Inspection Commission, stated that the badge is the recognition of Huynh’s significant contributions to the revolutionary cause.
Tu emphasised that during his 50 years as a Party member, Huynh has always remained absolutely loyal to the Party, fatherland and people, and made unceasing efforts to overcome all difficulties to build the Party cleaner and stronger.
He expressed his hope that Huynh would continue making contributions to the revolutionary cause of the Party, State and people.
For his part, Huynh expressed gratitude to the Party organisations which trained him to become a good Party member as well as his colleagues and comrades for supporting him to successfully fulfil his duties.
Huynh joined the armed forces at the age of 18 and fought in the fierce battlefield of Quang Tri during the American resistance war.
Before being named as a Permanent member of the Secretariat, Huynh served in various roles, including Editor-in-chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists Association, Head of the Central Commission for Communication and Education, and Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council.
