The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place in Ha Noi on December 25, 2025 as part of activities the 80th anniversary of the first general election of the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 – 2026).
The annual Dien Hong Awards honour outstanding press works on the NA and People’s Councils, contributing to improving the quality of media coverage, broaden the dissemination of information about the activities of elected bodies, and enhance public understanding and engagement in the country’s political life.
Entries should closely follow and deeply reflect the history and development of the Vietnamese NA, including the NA’s legislative and constitutional milestones over the years; and the NA’s role in the country’s Doi Moi (Renewal) process and national building and development efforts, especially the work of institutionalising the party’s policies during the 15th tenure.
In addition, the submitted works need to highlight the oversight functions of the NA within the rule-of-law socialist State of Viet Nam, especially its supreme supervisory role in areas such as socio-economic development, national defence and security, and executive power; as well as the NA’s foreign affairs activities amid the country’s international integration process and the implementation of the party and state's foreign policy.
They should also honour outstanding collectives and individuals with significant contributions to the works of the NA, acknowledge the roles and achievements of past and present presidents, vice presidents, and NA deputies; highlight reforms and innovations in the NA’s organisation and operations that improve quality and effectiveness and meet the demands of reality and public expectations.
The coordination between the NA and other key institutions including the president, the government, the Supreme People’s Court, the Supreme People’s Procuracy, the Viet Nam Fatherland Front, and other political and social organisations, and the activities and events held by the party, state, central and local agencies in celebration of the 80th anniversary of the first general election of the NA (January 6, 1946 – 2026) are also the themes of the awards.
All Vietnamese citizens, whether living in Viet Nam or abroad, and foreigners are eligible to submit entries that meet the awards’ criteria. Submitted works must not violate the Law on the Press, Intellectual Property Law, or journalistic ethics.
Eligible entries must be in Vietnamese (or in ethnic minority or foreign languages with a Vietnamese translation) and must have been published or broadcast for the first time, unedited and not rebroadcast, between November 21, 2024 and November 10, 2025 on legally licensed media outlets.
Entries, which are accepted from January 5, 2025 to November 12, 2025 (based on the postmark date), will be sent via internal mail to the NA Office (Information Department) at 22 Hung Vuong Street (Ba Dinh District, Ha Noi) and direct submissions to Information Department – Room 413, 35 Ngo Quyen Street (Hoan Kiem District, Ha Noi).
The Organising Committee will award outstanding journalistic works across various media formats, with one special prize worth 200 million VND, six first prizes worth 100 million VND each, 12 second prizes worth 50 million VND each, 22 third prizes worth 30 million VND each, and 25 consolation prizes worth 10 million VND each.
In addition, 15 Excellence Awards (10 million VND each) will be presented to outstanding media outlets and agencies actively supporting the awards. Up to two “Outstanding Impression” Awards (20 million VND each) may also be given to press agencies with works selected by the jury for their strong impact.
