Joining the delegation to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs were members of the Party Central Committee: Nguyen Thi Thu Ha, Vice President, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front; Nguyen Dinh Khang, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labour; Ha Thi Nga, President of the Vietnam Women's Union; and Nguyen Thi Doan, former President of the VFF Central Committee and former Vice President and President of the Vietnam Association for Study Encouragement.

The delegation observed a minute of silence to express gratitude and appreciation to heroes and martyrs who served in combat and devoted their youth to the Fatherland, contributing to the Dien Bien Phu Victory which “resounded throughout the five continents and was world-shaking”.

The Dien Bien Phu Victory on May 7, 1954, is considered a “golden milestone” in the country’s history of national construction and protection. The victory was of huge significance to the human race’s movement for national independence, peace, and progress, signalling the collapse of old-style colonialism on a global scale.
