The event is part of activities to mark the 69th anniversary of the Capital City’s Liberation Day (October 10, 1954-2023).

The highlight of the festival is an exhibition providing readers for free with beautiful books imbued with the imprints of Thang Long - Hanoi in many fields.

More than 30 publishers and book companies offer many meaningful exchange activities, reading experiences and book discount of up to 50 - 70% and many attractive gifts for readers.

A wide variety of other activities are held during the three-day festival including forum, the introduction of new and beautiful books, and exchanges with some famous authors.

This year’s festival continues to receive the active participation of several diplomatic agencies including Embassies of Laos, Myanmar and Italy.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Vice Chairman of Hanoi Municipal People’s Committee Ha Minh Hai said this year’s festival has created a knowledge space around Hoan Kiem Lake, serving the citizens and visitors to the capital city.
