Highlights of Cambodian NA President’s visit to Viet Nam

Cambodian media, including the Agence Kampuchea Presse (AKP), gave prominent coverage to the official visit to Viet Nam by Cambodian President National Assembly Samdech Khuon Sudary, affirming that the visit helped further strengthen the good neighbourliness, traditional friendship, comprehensive cooperation and long-term sustainability between the two countries.

Kampuchea Thmey quoted Cambodian National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary’s remarks at her talks with National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man, emphasising that cooperation between the two legislatures is a testament to the spirit that solidarity creates strength, cooperation brings benefits, and dialogue consolidates political trust.

According to the newspaper, the two sides agreed to continue concretising high-level agreements, study amendments to and the signing of a new memorandum of understanding on cooperation between the two National Assemblies, and strengthen cooperation in the health sector.

Fresh News reported on the courtesy meeting between National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary and Party General Secretary and State President To Lam. Fresh News said the Cambodian National Assembly President congratulated Viet Nam on and highly valued the country’s development and reform achievements in recent times. Party General Secretary and State President To Lam congratulated Cambodia on its development achievements, stressing the importance of maintaining a border of peace, promoting infrastructure connectivity, including the Phnom Penh–Ho Chi Minh City expressway project, expanding trade and investment cooperation, and enhancing the role of parliamentary diplomacy in bilateral relations.

AKP focused on the meeting between National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary and Prime Minister Le Minh Hung, highlighting the determination of the two countries’ leaders to raise bilateral trade from 11.33 billion USD in 2025 to 20 billion USD in the coming period.

According to AKP, Prime Minister Le Minh Hung affirmed that Viet Nam will continue implementing high-level agreements, encourage enterprises to expand investment in Cambodia, strengthen cooperation in human resource training, and coordinate in the search for and repatriation of the remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers. The Cambodian National Assembly President thanked Viet Nam for continuing to provide scholarships to Cambodian students and civil servants, while proposing stronger investment in agriculture, education, technology and innovation.

Cambodian media assessed that the official visit to Viet Nam by National Assembly President Samdech Khuon Sudary was a great success, contributing to deepening the traditional friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries.
