Speaking at the meeting, Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai affirmed that, based on the proposed programme framework, the Viet Nam National Authority of Tourism will assign specific focal points to coordinate with Ho Chi Minh City. She also asked the city to clearly position the value, brand and image of ITE HCMC in line with its status as the country’s leading tourism and economic metropolis.

ITE HCMC 2026 will feature a number of key activities, including on-site and online exhibitions, a buyer–seller (B2B) networking programme on a digital platform, the “Viet Nam Night” event, an international buyers and press programme, and a tourism consumer festival, alongside forums and thematic seminars introducing key source markets and updating new tourism trends.

According to Nguyen Cam Tu, Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Promotion Centre, ITE HCMC 2026 marks the 20th anniversary of the event. The expo is expected to take place from August 27 to 29, 2026 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), Ho Chi Minh City.

On this occasion, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism proposed that commendation certificates from the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism be awarded to units that have accompanied the expo over the past 20 years. It also proposed expanding the exhibition space to create greater room for growth in display activities, buyer–seller connections and the introduction of tourism products in a more professional and modern direction.

Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai said she will continue working with relevant focal points to develop this year’s theme with greater depth, reflecting development content and aligning with ITE HCMC’s 20-year journey of formation and growth. In particular, in line with green and sustainable tourism trends, the city’s core advantage — MICE tourism (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) — should be highlighted, thereby affirming its position as Viet Nam’s leading hub for international events, conferences and trade fairs.

In addition to the main activities, Nguyen Thi Hoa Mai proposed adding a series of side events such as a culinary week, a fashion week and a digital week. These would focus on Ho Chi Minh City’s strengths and distinctive identity to enhance the overall appeal of ITE HCMC 2026.
