Ho Chi Minh City strengthen tourism linkage with eight Northeastern provinces

A conference on promoting tourism destinations in eight Northeast provinces was held on April 8 within the framework of the 19th Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Fair.

Speaking at the conference, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Bac Kan Province Nguyen Dang Binh said, that after two years of implementation of tourism linkages between Ho Chi Minh City and the eighth Northeastern provinces, the Northeastern provinces have expanded a large number of tourist markets from the southern provinces and vice versa. Especially the tourist market from Ho Chi Minh City has increased sharply compared to the previous time, he noted.

Discussing the effectiveness of tourism linkages with the Northeastern provinces, a representative of the Department of Tourism of Ho Chi Minh City said that at present, the expanded Northeastern region has a lot of potential to attract domestic and foreign tourists through the beautiful landscape, diverse tourism products, such as resort tourism, sports tourism, tourism to explore the culture and history of ethnic groups.

Therefore, Ho Chi Minh City and eight Northeastern provinces have signed cooperation agreements to develop tourism, creating many unique products with bold imprints in the journey of exploring Vietnam by domestic and foreign tourists.

Ho Chi Minh City and the Northeastern provinces are aiming to link together, to build and develop tourism in the direction of sustainable and green tourism.
