[In Pictures] Panorama depicting historic Dien Bien Phu Victory brings emotions to veterans and tourists
Majestic, authentic and proud are the feelings of many veterans and tourists when standing in front of the panorama painting depicting the historical Dien Bien Phu battlefield at different times from late 1953 to May 7, 1954.
The Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum was built in 2012 and inaugurated in 2014 on the occasion of the 60th anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu victory. This is a project with modern architecture. The outer shape is designed as a bamboo hat covered with camouflage net, along with a system of concrete and reinforced steel spokes to create a diamond shape symbolizing the army combat uniform of Dien Bien soldiers in the past.
The museum attracts a large number of tourists from all over the country in this year's March.
From early in the morning, tourists lined up to visit and admire the panorama painting depicting the historical Dien Bien Phu battlefield, on the 2nd floor of the Museum.

The artwork, covering an area of 3,250 square meters, depicts the entire army going to battle, the opening combat at Him Lam hill, the A1 hill battle, and the triumph. The painting was done by about 30 painters drawing continuously and some occasionally. Artist Nguyen Van Mac is the person in charge of making this painting.
Truong Son (Hanoi) shared: "In my mind, the museum is just a place to display historical artifacts. I was really surprised because history was recreated so realistically on this giant painting. This is truly a new destination not to be missed when traveling to Dien Bien."
The tour guide leads viewers to each segment of the painting. In the photo is the first scene "All the people go to war" with images of overlapping groups of people, soldiers carrying goods, climbing mountains and wading streams to provide food for the front line.
According to statistics, in just the first week of March, the number of tourists visiting the Dien Bien Phu Historical Victory Museum reached nearly 2,000 visitors. The number is expected to continue to increase sharply in the next time.
Among the visitors are former war veterans.
Everyone wants to save a souvenir photo with a historical panorama painting.
"When I look at the painting, I imagine that I am living in the heroic atmosphere of my ancestors in the past with the Dien Bien Phu campaign. I feel more deeply about the victories as well as the losses and sacrifices of my ancestors, who have brought us a peaceful life today" - Toan, a tourist from Hai Phong shared.
