France’s L’Humanité ran an article stressing that, after decades of impressive economic growth, the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam has set the goal of maintaining the country’s development trajectory through to 2030, while promoting innovation within the framework of a socialist-oriented market economy.

The article also quoted the vision and development orientations emphasised in the Congress documents, highlighting the objective of achieving further “breakthroughs” in the coming period, particularly growth rates of 10% or higher.

Addressing external challenges amid an increasingly complex and volatile international environment, the article highly valued Viet Nam’s flexible foreign policy, which has helped enhance its role and standing on the international stage, while also noting the steadfastness of the Communist Party of Viet Nam on the path of building socialism towards stability and sustainable development.

One of the key issues covered by the press was the outcome of the election of senior personnel at the 14th National Congress. French media outlets published reports emphasising that the 14th-term Party Central Committee unanimously elected To Lam, General Secretary of the 13th-term Party Central Committee, to continue holding the position of General Secretary of the 14th-term Party Central Committee.

Major news agencies and newspapers, such as Xinhua, Bloomberg, AP, and the South China Morning Post, also reported on the results of the election of the 14th-term Party Central Committee of Viet Nam, affirming that the unanimous election of Comrade To Lam to continue serving as General Secretary of the 14th-term Party Central Committee reflects a high level of unity within the Communist Party of Viet Nam.

Articles in foreign media also praised Viet Nam’s recent efforts in administrative reform and anti-corruption, while reflecting the Communist Party of Viet Nam’s priority on building and developing an advanced Vietnamese culture imbued with strong national identity.

Thai media have also closely followed and extensively reported on the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Viet Nam. The newspaper Thaipublica published an article affirming that the 14th National Congress represents a “strategic turning point” in the country’s modernisation process, marking a clear shift towards a new growth model focused on raising productivity and promoting digitalisation.
