The event drew the participation of Danish Ambassador John Nielsen and ‘Running Man’ Vu Xuan Tien, along with more than other 170 runners from 28 countries.
The runners will donate part of their entry fees to help Sapa O’Chau, a local organization that creates education opportunities to young local minority people.
Vietnam Mountain Marathon 2013 will include three categories: half marathon, marathon and ultra-marathon. The nearly 70-km course runs through small villages and beautiful valleys where few tourists have the chance to visit.
Awards will be presented at the closing ceremony will be held on October 6.
The event is jointly held by the Danish Embassy in Vietnam, Phu Thinh Joint Stock Company and Novo Nordisk – a Danish pharmaceutical company – and Topas Ecolodge, a local resort.
