The concert will take the audience on a musical journey, beginning with the city of Sevilla in southern Andalucia in Spain, with three pieces by Isaac Albeniz and Pablo de Sarasate.
Musical pieces on Madrid and the Mediterranean will be performed at the concert. The highlight will be a chapter from the masterpiece Concierto de Aranjuez by Joaquin Rodrigo.
The night will end with the piece La Procesion del Rocio by Joaquin Tuirina.
Spain's David Gomez Ramirez will conduct the concert, comprising performances by guitarist Nguyen Thanh Hang, violinist Anna Sowanna Takeda and the Hanoi Philharmonic Orchestra.
Ramirez has been director of the Lira Saguntian Symphony Orchestra in Valencia and the Conservatory of Music ‘Joaquin Rodrigo’ in Sagunto, Spain, since 2007.
During the past seven years, he conducted all major Spanish orchestras and has appeared as a guest conductor in Europe, Asia and South America, and in musical centres such as Paris, Caracas, Havana and Brussels, along with Hanoi.
Violinist Takeda began playing the violin when she was just five years old. At the age of 15, the Thai-Japanese violinist won a national contest in Thailand over three consecutive years and won the top prize at the Osaka International Music Competition in Japan.
The Hanoi concert will take place at 8pm October 14 at VNAM, 77, Hao Nam Street.
