The reception of fire-fighting equipment donated by Japan is crucial in the context of the ongoing socio-economic development, rapid urbanisation, and the increasing demands for fire prevention, firefighting, and rescue operations.
The used fire trucks have been converted to the appropriate driving configuration and underwent maintenance and repairs by both Japanese and Vietnamese experts.
After the handover, the fire trucks were assigned to the police forces of Ha Nam Provinceand Thai Binh Province for direct management and use in firefighting, rescue, and relief efforts in the local areas.

On the occasion, Japanese Ambassador to Vietnam Ito Naoki expressed his joy that the fire trucks, which had previously been in operation in Japan, have been transferred by sea to Vietnam and will now be used to protect the lives and property of the Vietnamese people.
The ambassador said the partnership between the two countries materialise step by step in a solid manner. He noted that this cooperation could contribute to Vietnam's future development and expressed hope that the relationship between Japan and Vietnam would grow even stronger through this support.
Immediately after the handover ceremony, officers and soldiers received training on the operation of the fire trucks donated by Japan and conducted firefighting and rescue drills.
