Present at the event were Deputy Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc, National Assembly Vice Chairman Uong Chu Luu and Justice Minister Ha Hung Cuong.
Addressing the ceremony, Deputy PM Phuc praised the achievements recorded by the academy over the past 15 years in training judicial officials to meet the growing demands for the country’s human resource development.
He emphasised that the Party and State always attach special importance to the building of a well-qualified and ethical judiciary staff who can meet the requirements of applying the law during the current phase of national industrialisation and modernisation and international integration.
The Deputy PM also asked the academy to continue implementation of Politburo Resolution No. 49 on judicial reform strategy by 2020, and to effectively carry out the project approved by the Government on Building the Judicial Academy into a large training centre for judicial titles.
He said that the academy needs to renew its operations and training methods, as well as enhance the quality of its teaching staff to ensure that graduated trainees are qualified to meet requirements of the society. It should pay attention to academic research and training judicial officials to serve remote and disadvantaged areas, he noted.
On behalf of the Government, Deputy PM Phuc awarded the Government's Certificate of Merit to the academy.
