Nguyen Thi Hong, Vice Chairperson of the National Assembly, attended the ceremony.
The ceremony was held under the direction of the National Steering Committee for the Search, Collection, and Identification of Fallen Soldiers' Remains. The soldiers whose remains were collected in this operation were outstanding sons of the nation who bravely sacrificed their lives on February 14, 1951, in Muong Cau Village, Binh Lu Commune, during the resistance war against French colonialism.
The successful recovery of the remains of these 47 soldiers is the result of the immense effort and determination of the Lai Chau Provincial Steering Committee for the Search, Collection, and Identification of Fallen Soldiers' Remains. Driven by a "command from the heart" and a sacred sense of responsibility of the entire political system and the people, this campaign has brought great comfort and reassurance to the fallen soldiers' families.
To express deep gratitude to those who laid down their lives for the nation's independence and freedom, a delegation of Party and State leaders and representatives of ministries and central agencies, led by Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly Nguyen Thi Hong, laid flowers and offered incense in tribute to the spirits of the heroic fallen soldiers.
Following, delegations from Military Region 2, leaders of Lai Chau province, armed forces, and the people offered incense in remembrance and respectfully accompanied the remains of the 47 fallen soldiers to their eternal resting place in the embrace of the motherland.
