The 10-day event is jointly held by the Department of Performing Arts, the Vietnam Musicians’ Association, the Vietnam Dancers’ Association, and the Hai Phong city Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism.
During the festival, the participating artists will bring to the stage both songs and dances praising the land and culture of Vietnam as well as the solidarity and mutual supporting spirit of the Vietnamese people amidst the COVID-19 pandemic.
In her opening speech, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Thi Thuy hailed that artists have continued to promote their creativity and contributions despite the complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic.
She noted with pleasure that many art programmes and performances have been produced to entertain the public while conveying meaningful messages to the frontline workers in the COVID-19 fight and encouraging audiences to overcome difficulties to battle out the pandemic.
Following the Government’s resolution on safe adaptation with flexible and effective control of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has directed functional agencies to create favourable conditions for artists, actors and actresses to promote their talents and create works with higher quality to the audience, she stated.
