More than 1,000 attend “Homeland Spring – Great Unity Tet Osaka 2026”

The “Homeland Spring – Great Unity Tet Osaka 2026” programme was held at Ikuno Park in Osaka, Japan, on January 4, attracting more than 1,000 participants.

Attendees included members of the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in Japan, as well as many Japanese friends who have a strong appreciation for Vietnamese culture.

The event was attended by Ngo Trinh Ha, Consul General of Viet Nam in Osaka, and Huynh Thuy Hanh, First Secretary of the Embassy of Viet Nam in Japan, along with representatives of Vietnamese associations and organisations across Japan.

The programme was organised by the Kansai Vietnamese Association, under the patronage of the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka and the Ikuno Ward authorities, and the event was attended by numerous Japanese parliamentarians as well as representatives of agencies, organisations, and associations from both countries.

In his address, Ngo Trinh Ha, Consul General of Viet Nam in Osaka, acknowledged and highly appreciated the positive contributions made by the Vietnamese community in Japan, particularly in the Kansai region, in fostering unity, building a strong community, integrating effectively into the host society, and always maintaining close ties with the homeland.

The Consul General stressed that Viet Nam–Japan relations are developing in an increasingly deep and substantive manner and expressed his hope that the Vietnamese community would continue to play its role as a bridge of friendship, contributing to the further nurturing of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries in the time ahead.

According to Le Thuong, Chairwoman of the Kansai Vietnamese Association and head of the organising committee, “Homeland Spring – Great Unity Tet Osaka 2026” is a meaningful community cultural activity that helps preserve national identity and strengthen cohesion within the overseas Vietnamese community, while at the same time promoting cultural exchange, enhancing mutual understanding, and fostering friendship between the peoples of Viet Nam and Japan.

The support and patronage of the Consulate General of Viet Nam in Osaka, the Ikuno Ward authorities, and the interest and attendance of Japanese parliamentarians serve as a great source of encouragement for the Vietnamese community in Kansai, helping to reaffirm the role of Homeland Spring as a cultural and friendship bridge between the two nations.

Within the framework of the programme, a wide range of cultural and artistic activities were organised, most notably an exhibition of paintings and photographs showcasing Vietnamese culture and tourism, which attracted considerable interest from visitors. In addition, traditional folk games, Tet cultural experience activities, and a banh chung wrapping competition created a lively and joyful atmosphere, enabling participants to directly experience the traditional Lunar New Year customs of the Vietnamese people.
