NA Vice Chairwoman inspects election preparations in Quang Ninh

Nguyen Thi Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairwoman of the National Assembly, and Member of the National Election Council, inspected and surveyed the election preparations for the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term in Quang Ninh Province on March 3.

With the involvement of the entire political system and the consensus of the people, the implementation of the election of the 16th National Assembly and People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term in Quang Ninh Province is being carried out according to plan, ensuring quality and demonstrating the determination to successfully organise a safe, democratic, and lawful election, truly a festival for the entire people.

National Assembly Vice Chairwoman and Member of the National Election Council Nguyen Thi Thanh highly appreciated the proactive and serious spirit of Quang Ninh Province in its preparation work; at the same time, she requested the province to focus intensely, clearly assign responsibilities, and link guidance with inspection and supervision; pay attention to the delegates from the Central level nominated to run in the locality; continue to thoroughly review all stages, especially the preparation and posting of voter lists, resolving complaints and denunciations (if any), and strengthen widespread communication to create an atmosphere of enthusiasm and confidence among the people before election day.

She also requested the province to ensure political security and social order, especially in border areas, border gates, seaports, and sensitive areas; proactively prevent and handle harmful and toxic information and acts of exploiting the election to cause division and instability; review all polling areas; ensure conditions for travel and communication in mountainous and island areas; promptly inform voters about the time and location of voting; and organise solemn and proper decorations and ceremonies.

To date, the Quang Ninh Provincial Election Committee and its departments and units have issued approximately 486 directives and guidelines on election work; and announced 381 polling stations for National Assembly and People’s Council representatives at all levels.

The People’s Committees of communes, wards, and special zones have divided 1,243 polling areas, including 1,190 polling areas at village and neighbourhood cultural centres; seven polling areas at commune-level cultural and sports centres; eight polling areas at schools; 34 polling areas at armed forces units; and four polling areas at other locations.
