NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh inspects election preparations in Ninh Binh

On February 27, the supervisory and inspection delegation of the National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee and the National Election Council, led by Nguyen Khac Dinh, Member of the Party Central Committee, NA Vice Chairman and Member of the National Election Council, held a working session with the Provincial Steering Committee for the Election and the Election Committee of Ninh Binh province.

At the meeting, the delegation worked with the province on preparations for the election of deputies to the 16th National Assembly and deputies to People’s Councils at all levels for the 2026–2031 term. Ninh Binh has a total of 3,150,931 voters out of 4,355,387 people across 2,536 polling stations. All 129 communes and wards have completed the posting of voter lists at the headquarters of People’s Committees and public locations in accordance with regulations.

Consultative conferences were organized seriously and in accordance with procedures, ensuring democracy, objectivity, openness and transparency; the collection of opinions from voters at places of residence and workplaces was carried out fully in line with the law. Accordingly, 19 NA deputies will be elected, with an official list of 35 candidates (9 introduced by the central level, 26 introduced by the locality); 85 provincial People’s Council deputies will be elected, with an official list of 142 candidates; 2,776 commune-level People’s Council deputies will be elected, with an official list of 4,560 candidates. Up to now, there have been no complaints or denunciations related to candidates or the election work...

At the meeting, central and local delegates focused discussions on key contents such as: in-depth training on election management software; additional central funding support for election work; promoting digital transformation at the grassroots level; preparing contingency plans in case tourists in the locality participate in voting; organizing voter meetings flexibly and in compliance with the law; and difficulties and obstacles in the preparation process.

Delivering directive remarks at the meeting, NA Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the province’s election preparations, which have been implemented comprehensively, synchronously and in accordance with the law and central guiding documents; at the same time promoting the spirit of democracy, unity, proactiveness and positivity. To date, about two-thirds of the required tasks have been directed and urgently implemented by the province, creating good consensus; completed tasks have met the schedule, with many finished ahead of the required deadlines.

He emphasized that the time remaining until election day is very short and constitutes a key stage determining the success of the election. This important political event takes place right after the 14th National Party Congress, in the context of implementing the two-tier local government model, with many new requirements for organization and implementation; notably, the preparation period has been shortened by two months compared to previous elections. Therefore, tasks must be carried out with the highest concentration, implemented scientifically, urgently and effectively, in association with promoting the application of science and technology.

The NA Vice Chairman requested the province to continue closely leading and directing each step and stage, ensuring compliance with schedule and legal regulations; mobilize experienced grassroots election officials; organize thorough training, strengthen guiding and urging documents, and complete election dossiers; review and identify key areas and develop scenarios to handle arising situations. At the same time, thoroughly grasp and strictly implement Conclusion No. 03 on continuing the implementation of Directive No. 46 of the Politburo; prepare personnel work to ensure proper structure, composition and number; promote the application of information technology and digital transformation in elections, ensuring synchronization in management software, equipment and human resources.

In addition, the province should strengthen information and communication work to help the people clearly understand the meaning and importance of the election, creating social consensus; firmly grasp the situation of political security and social order and safety; fully prepare conditions for election day; clearly assign individuals, tasks and responsibilities, linking direction with inspection and supervision.

At the meeting, Tran Huy Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Election Committee, affirmed that with a high sense of responsibility before the central authorities and the people, Ninh Binh province commits to concentrating the highest level of leadership and direction of the entire political system to successfully organize the election in the province, ensuring democracy, legality, safety and thrift.
