National Football Tournament for Workers and Civil Servants to be held

The Vietnam General Confederation of Labour, the Vietnam Football Federation and Tuoi Tre (Youth) Newspaper jointly held a press conference in Ho Chi Minh City to announce the 2024 Vietnam Football Tournament for Workers and Civil Servants on September 16.

The tournament is organised on a national scale. The teams will go through two rounds. The qualifying round is expected to be held from September to October 2024 in Ho Chi Minh City, Binh Duong, Nghe An, and Bac Ninh provinces.

There are nearly 60 teams registered to compete in this tournament. The tournament is organised in the 7-a-side football format according to the competition rules issued by the Vietnam Football Federation.

The 16 best teams in the qualifying round will qualify for the national finals, which will take place in November 2024 in Hanoi. The total prize money for the tournament is 930 million VND, of which the regional qualifying round champion will receive 50 million VND, and the national final round champion will receive 150 million VND.

At the press conference, the Organising Committee announced fundraising activities to support people affected by natural disasters and floods in the northern provinces, with 1.1 billion VND from businesses joining hands to overcome the consequences of natural disasters.
