This information was announced by Colonel Pham Toan Thang, Deputy General Director of the Ministry of National Defence’s Economic Department of Vietnam, at the closing ceremony of the Vietnam-Laos Trade Fair 2022 in Vientiane on November 7.
With rich and diverse contents, application of scientific and technological achievements, digital transformation into innovation activities of events, the fair has brought positive effects and results.
On display were products and services of military-run enterprises of Vietnam and Laos, as well as consumer goods, farm products, food and others produced by enterprises of Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Thailand, the Republic of Korea and Japan taking part in the event.
At the joint exhibition area, the Organising Committee displayed outstanding images introducing the special solidarity and traditional friendship between the State, people and armies of the two countries Vietnam-Laos; exhibiting a number of typical images and artifacts of the Vietnam People's Army engaged in production labour, building the country's economy, developing in combination with strengthening national defence and security, and consumer products, services of representatives of military units and enterprises.
Workshops and fact-finding tours were organised during the expo. Among them was a workshop on applying technology in digital transformation and effectively engaging in the global supply chain.
Notably, right after the opening day, there were 12 cooperation agreements signed between Vietnamese and Lao enterprises, including an agreement to export 20 tons of coffee to the Thai market signed by Gidifa Vietnam Group Joint Stock Company.
On this occasion, the organising board selected 50 typical units, businesses and individuals of Vietnam and Laos to propose to the Minister of National Defence of Vietnam to present certificates of merit.
The Lao Ministry of National Defence also awarded 38 certificates of merit to outstanding units, businesses and individuals of the two countries.
