At the session with the NA’s Committee for Culture and Social Affairs, the NA Chairman noted that in 2025 and throughout the current term, the Committee had successfully fulfilled its assigned duties and achieved fairly comprehensive results.

He outlined several priority tasks for the period ahead, urging the Committee to strengthen political and ideological education among officials and Party members, particularly in the current context; to step up internal inspection and supervision; and to prevent any deterioration in political ideology, ethics, or lifestyle.

The Chairman requested that the Party Committee of the NA’s Committee for Culture and Social Affairs formulate a concrete action programme aligned closely with the cultural and social objectives set out in the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress.

Emphasising that while the country’s cultural and social landscape currently shows many positive developments, there remain shortcomings requiring comprehensive solutions, the NA Chairman stated that the Committee should closely monitor developments, conduct research, and proactively make timely recommendations to the Party and the State.

Earlier the same morning, speaking at a working session with the NA’s Committee for Public Petitions and Oversight, the NA Chairman commended the comprehensive and notable achievements the Committee has recorded in recent years.

A key legislative highlight was its advisory role to the National Assembly Standing Committee and the National Assembly in amending the Law on the Oversight Activities of the National Assembly and People’s Councils, as well as its timely appraisal of related draft laws and resolutions, ensuring both quality and progress.

Regarding key tasks for 2026, the NA Chairman underlined that this is the first year of implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, a year of particular significance in maintaining political stability, ensuring social order and safety, and laying a firm foundation for economic development.

In that context, legislative work, oversight, and decisions on major national issues must continue to undergo strong innovation to meet new demands. Public petitions and oversight activities, in particular, must be further enhanced.

Accordingly, he called on the Committee to focus on reviewing and supervising the implementation of the Law on the Oversight Activities of the National Assembly and People’s Councils, ensuring that its provisions are applied in a coherent, unified, and effective manner.

At the same time, the Committee should develop a comprehensive oversight programme for the entire term and for 2026, ensuring clear priorities and focus areas, while proactively monitoring developments at an early stage through a multi-channel information system.
