It is part of a wider project to promote smart tourism nationwide by providing visitors with information of the places they are visiting with just a smartphone touch.
In Quang Ngai, NFC-enabled signs are set up at three locations, namely the Hoang Sa Flotilla Exhibition Hall on Ly Son Island, the Ba To Uprising Museum, and the Sa Huynh Culture Exhibition Hall.
Visitors can touch their smartphones against the NFC boards to get stories, photos, videos, or 3D models of the visited sites, as well as tourism information about the nearby areas.
According to Tran Minh Tuan, head of the project from Nhan Dan’s technology partner Phygital Labs, the project aims to promote historical, cultural and tourism sites all over the country from northernmost Ha Giang to southernmost Ca Mau.
He added that in the coming time, the information provided from these NFC-enabled signs will be available in other languages to help promote Vietnamese tourism to the world.
According to the Quang Ngai Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the installation of these boards will help the province communicate about important historical and cultural events, as well as local tourism products, in a more vivid and effective manner.
