Nhan Dan Newspaper’s “Love Vietnam So Much” project installed in Quang Binh Province

Within the framework of the “Love Vietnam So Much” project implemented by Nhan Dan Newspaper in coordination with its technology partners in provinces and cities across the country, Nhan Dan Newspaper in collaboration with relevant agencies of Quang Binh Province on March 25 installed NFC (Near-Field Communications) chip panels at famous historical, cultural and tourist sites in Quang Binh Province.
Many people are excited about the new service using NFC at Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Centre.

The project is a practical activity towards the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day (April 30, 1975 - April 30, 2025) and the promotion of historical and cultural sites across the country, contributing to the development of Vietnam’s tourism.

Accordingly, the project is implemented in three locations of Quang Binh Province: Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park (World Natural Heritage) in Phong Nha Town, Bo Trach District; Quang Binh Quan (national relic) in Dong Hai Ward, Dong Hoi City and Lieu Hanh Holy Mother Temple (provincial relic) in Quang Dong Commune, Quang Trach District.

The chip panels are designed in two colours yellow and red, inspired by the Vietnamese national flag and can operate automatically without a power source. When visiting the above destinations, visitors, using their mobile phones to interact with the NFC chip panel, will be recognised to have check-in at the location, save personal photos, and receive useful information about the location, relic or destination.

Each chip panel will provide stories, images, videos or 3D models of the location, and relic where the chip panel is located. At the same time, it provides features to look up, navigate, and find information to explore tourist destinations at the current location and neighbouring areas. When visitors experience all the chip-attached places in a locality, they will receive gifts from the program and a digital certificate when they complete their exploration there.

Quang Binh Quan is an attractive destination for tourists in Quang Binh, so the NFC application will facilitate visitors when learning about this national relic.

According to Mr Tran Minh Tuan, Head of the "Love Vietnam So Much" project, Phygital Labs Joint Stock Company, in the coming time, the project will develop new challenge games for tourists to check-in, as well as optimise features to serve tourism such as: guiding, supporting the flow of visitors to other locations when a location is too crowded, informing tourists about important events in localities.

In the coming time, the project will also standardise the content to convert into other languages, contributing to promoting and introducing Vietnamese tourism to the world.

According to the representative of Nhan Dan Newspaper, the project aims to promote historical and cultural sites and destinations across the country, from Ha Giang to Ca Mau, create unique discovery experiences for tourists, support and promote tourism in localities as well as the whole country for development.

For Quang Binh Province, the use of this NFC chip panel will be one of the tools for the province to implement the digital transformation strategy, combining official information and data with technology and creative ideas to vividly and effectively communicate important historical and cultural events and local tourism products.

The director of Phong Nha-Ke Bang Tourism Centre Hoang Minh Thang highly appreciated the project's support in communicating and promoting tourism of the World Natural Heritage.

Recognising as a new technology to connect tourists and heritage, Mr Hoang Minh Thang suggested that tour guides update how to exploit information via NFC to guide tourists to experience services and information when coming to Phong Nha-Ke Bang.

Director Hoang Minh Thang hopes that the project will update more information and new images about Phong Nha-Ke Bang tourism to serve tourists and provide more information about entrance fees and services at this National Park through the installation of NFC chip panels to help tourists be easier to access information.
