The move is among activities to commemorate the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh’s birth and the 71st anniversary of the Dien Bien Phu Victory (May 7, 1954 – 2025).
The events also aim to showcase the culture, traditions, and customs of Viet Nam’s 54 ethnic groups.
The events feature the participation of more than 100 people from 16 ethnic groups who are regularly active in the village, along with ethnic Co Tu and Ta Oi groups in A Luoi District, Hue City, on May 17–18.
The May programme, themed “President Ho Chi Minh and the Vietnamese Ethnic Communities”, includes the re-enactment of the Forest Worship Ceremony of ethnic groups in A Luoi District (on the morning of Sunday, May 18), the Buddha’s Birthday Celebration at the Khmer Pagoda Complex (on the morning of May 11). In addition, a range of folk music and dance performances under themes of “President Ho Chi Minh – A Boundless Love” and “President Ho Chi Minh and the Central Highlands – The Central Highlands and President Ho Chi Minh” are scheduled to take place on Saturdays and Sundays.
In addition, visitors can experience various traditional cultural activities on weekends, including folk games, painting, trying on ethnic costumes, and other supporting activities, depending on actual conditions.

Weekend events are also held by ethnic groups who are regularly active in the village, offering performances of folk songs and dances, traditional music such as xoe dancing, bamboo pole dancing, vi singing, folk songs, then singing, tinh lute playing, bell dances, turtle dances, Ay ray singing, Robam theatre, and other folk games.

Visitors can also explore traditional cuisine and enjoy unique dishes including: steamed sticky rice, chicken cooked with bamboo shoots, steamed fish, steamed vegetables, grilled fish, pork-based dishes, and colourful sticky rice by the Muong ethnic group; wild honey, pollen, coffee, cocoa by the E De; khau nhuc, braised fish with sour bamboo shoots, sausages, smoked meat, and stuffed bamboo shoots by the Tay and Nung; and grilled fish, grilled chicken, colourful sticky rice by the Thai and Dao ethnic groups.
