The awards included one first prize, two second prizes, three third prizes, ten consolation prizes and ten topical prizes.
Nhan Dan Newspaper won a third prize for a series of articles on developing the collective economy and a topical prize for a report on the formation of an ecological, transparent and responsible agriculture.
According to Luong Quoc Doan, Chairman of the Vietnamese Farmers Association, the awards contributed to the dissemination of the Party and State’s policies on agriculture, rural areas and farmers while honouring outstanding farmers and agricultural models.
Since the event’s announcement in April, the organisers have received more than 2,700 works from over 100 press agencies nationwide.
Doan said the articles have helped change the mindset of farmers from agricultural production to agricultural economy, adding that each article is like a brush creating a multicoloured and lively picture of Vietnam’s rural areas.
At the presentation ceremony, the organisers also launched the awards for 2024, in which they will receive submissions for works published between January and November next year.
