The festival opened with a 2 kilometre parade of dragon boats along Ngo Dong river, which run through the caves at the Tam Coc – Bich Dong complex, including Ca, Hai and Ba caves.
Visitors on the boats can not only admire the awe-stunning beauty of yellow ripened rice fields along the route but can also enjoy charming folk singing melodies performed by local artists.
A string of activities will be held during the week-long event, including a food market, a photo exhibition, folk games, and water puppetry shows.
The craft of embroidery of Van Lam villagers in Ninh Hai commune, Hoa Lu district and pottery making of Bo Bat pottery in Bach Lien village, Yen Thanh commune, Yen Mo district, will also be introduced to visitors on the occasion.
The Ninh Binh tourism week is held annually in late May during the most beautiful time in Tam Coc – Bich Dong site when the rice paddies along the banks of the Ngo Dong river ripen.
It aims to promote the unique value of Trang An complex to visitors at home and abroad, thus stimulating the tourism development of Ninh Binh province.
