Ninh Thuan to hold firework display

Ninh Thuan province will hold a firework display on the occasion of receiving a certificate from UNESCO, recognising the pottery-making art of the Cham ethnic minority people, as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding, as well as the opening of the Grape - Wine Festival 2023.

This information was announced by the leader of Ninh Thuan Provincial People's Committee, on May 30.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Long Bien said, that the Grape - Wine Festival and the ceremony to receive a certificate from UNESCO, recognising the pottery-making art of the Cham ethnic minority people as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding, is an important and meaningful event for Ninh Thuan to attract more tourists, thereby turning tourism into a spearhead economic sector with sustainable development in the coming years.

With funding from social mobilisation and other legal sources, the locality will organise a low-range fireworks display with the theme “Ninh Thuan – The land of convergence of different values”, within 15 minutes after the opening ceremony.

According to the Provincial People's Committee, up to now, all preparations for the events have been carried out urgently and thoughtfully, by the organising committee and localities.

The festival will take place from June 13 to 18; in which, the opening ceremony will be held on the evening of June 16, at April 16 Square.

Nguyen Van Hoa, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Ninh Thuan province, said that within the framework of the two important events, many cultural, sports and tourism activities will be organised, such as fairs, musical performances, a grapevine trellis contest, vineyard tours, and conferences on the development of grape farming and processing.

The events are an opportunity for domestic and foreign tourists to enjoy and learn about Ninh Thuan - the land of convergence of different values.

This is also an opportunity for the locality to attract investment in tourism; thereby, soon turning the province's tourism industry into a spearhead economic sector, developing sustainably in the coming years.
