As 2024 comes to a close, online travel platform Agoda has released data showing that Vietnam is becoming a popular destination for welcoming New Year's Eve 2025.
The number of searches for accommodation in Vietnam by international tourists during this period has risen by 30% compared to last year, indicating that the S-shaped country is increasingly attracting global attention.
According to Agoda's statistics, the Republic of Korea (RoK), Japan, Thailand, Taiwan (China), and the US are the countries and regions with the highest number of tourists choosing to visit Vietnam to say goodbye to the old year.

Among these, Ho Chi Minh City maintains its position as the most sought-after destination, where visitors can enjoy the vibrant fireworks display along the Saigon River as they welcome the year 2025. Familiar destinations such as Da Nang, Hanoi, and Nha Trang are among the top 5 most popular stops for international tourists.
Vu Ngoc Lam, the Director of Agoda in Vietnam, shared that with its unique combination of rich culture, vibrant lifestyle, and stunning natural landscapes, Vietnam is quickly becoming an attractive destination that international tourists seek to welcome the New Year.

For domestic tourists, the choice of New Year's destinations is equally diverse. Ho Chi Minh City continues to solidify its leading position, followed by the dreamy city of Da Lat, Vung Tau with its peaceful beaches, the capital city of Hanoi, and the coastal city of Nha Trang. This year, Nha Trang has surpassed Phan Thiet to return to the top 5.
Meanwhile, Bangkok, Taipei (Taiwan, China), Tokyo, Singapore, and Hong Kong (China) are the most searched international destinations by Vietnamese tourists during this time.
